One of the biggest factors affecting speed is the amount of free Random Access Memory or RAM for short. A simple way to free up some more RAM is to reduce the number of programs that load automatically when you turn your PC on.
To access this list:
- Left click on Start
- Left click on Run
- Type in msconfig and left click on OK
- Left click on Startup
- Examine the list and un-tick and programs that you do not wish to load automatically.
- Left click on OK
- Restart your computer for changes to take effect
Don’t worry you cant do any damage to your computer as you can always re-tick any programs to make them load automatically in the future.
