One of the biggest factors affecting speed is the amount of free Random Access Memory or RAM for short. A simple way to free up some more RAM is to reduce the number of programs that load automatically when you turn your PC on.

To access this list:
  • Left click on Start

  • Left click on Run

  • Type in msconfig and left click on OK

  • Left click on Startup

  • Examine the list and un-tick and programs that you do not wish to load automatically.

  • Left click on OK

  • Restart your computer for changes to take effect

Don’t worry you cant do any damage to your computer as you can always re-tick any programs to make them load automatically in the future.
